Introduction
I'm just gonna say it: Sonic 2 is one of my absolute favourite Sonic games, and is currently sitting in my top 5 in the series. I love nearly everything about this game, and I think it improves upon Sonic 1's excellent foundations in pretty much every way. The graphics are better, the art direction is just as good, if not even stronger, and the music is flat out incredible. But most of all, the gameplay and level design is the best iteration of 2D Sonic in the entire 90s quadrilogy. To call this game excellent would be the understatement of the century, and I'm beyond excited to be able to talk about, since in my latest playthrough, I gained an even greater adoration of this game, making me even more compelled to share my love for it with the world.
